2009 Winter WonderLand Special Event

January 31, 2009 was the Winter Wonderland Special Event held yearly at the Harris Nature Center. Here is a summary of the events that took place for those in attendance.

The event ran from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Usually, about 350-400 people attend this event. Due to great snow conditions we expected record crowds! Winter Wonder Land events included: Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and ice sculptures. A number of sled dogs were on display as well as rides on the sleds and a hay wagon. Out in the center of the grounds, a fire pit was in operation to add to the ambiance of the festival and allow for warmth to the outdoor participants.

Of course our amateur radio demonstration took place Indoors at the center.
